FAQs

Q. Does Permanent Makeup hurt?
A. This is absolutely one of the most common questions that pertains to the body modification industry, and rightfully so. Physical pain is not a fun thing to endure. In general, permanent cosmetic procedures are much more comfortable than getting a traditional tattoo. I have been properly trained to use safe topical anesthetics on clientele which results in almost no pain at all.

Q. Can you make me up to have cats eye eyeliner or black lipliner?
A. Nope, afraid not. Only natural looking permanent makeup is applied at ArtistsTouch, and I take great pride in that fact. As a wise, experienced permanent makeup technician once told me, "Wake up with make up, not made up."

Q. Is it permanent makeup or is it really semi permanent?
A. Down to its most basic definition, permanent makeup is a tattoo. Tattoos are forever, pigment is introduced to the skin and remains in the skin forever. Skin is our outer wonderful defense barrier, our skin protects our bodies and is exposed to every element in nature. Sun, temperature change, perspiration, and constant death and rejuvenation of skin cells are just some things our skin must endure. There is no doubt that sun may lighten or fade ink over time. For example, let's think about why cameras and UV lighting  aren't allowed in museums or galleries. Over time, the UV lights will fade the color in the painting or photo, altering the appearance of the original work. Some people have needed touch ups every 1 to 8 years and some have never needed one. Good work requires little to no touchups. There are several people whose permanent makeup looks almost identical as it did the day it was done 2o years ago.

Factors for needed touch ups may occur due to circumstances beyond the technician's or client's control. The natural change to the skin as nature takes its course affects the way pigment fades in it. Trauma we inflict on our skin such as chemical peeling, facials, waxing, and overexposure to the sun takes a harsh toll on our beautiful pigment. Also, the fading of permanent makeup could be caused by a poorly done procedure. One of the worst mistakes anyone could make is trusting their skin to an improperly trained technician. Please be good to yourself and support a technician who cares enough about their client's skin to receive proper training and are practicing with safe and sterile methods.

Q. Why Should I get Permanent Makeup?

If you answer yes to these questions, then Yes, you should get permanent makeup.
